These dresses are works of art that show the nature of transformation, and draw attention to the human connection to one another and the environment. Combined are an array of fabrics from different eras, and areas of the world that are either surplus, vintage, or the latest eco-tech fabrics and garments. They are then hand painted, dyed, beaded, and embellished with vintage jewelry.
The top of this dress is hand-dyed, and ombred surplus fabric, the band and bow is made from a hand dyed
and hand painted vintage fabric
with metalic embroidery on the edges, with a vintage brooch from the 1940's attached to the bow. The body of the dress is made from a vintage kimono with 24K gold embroidery. The lining of the dress is sheer so the beauty of the embroidery on the back side of the kimono fabric is visible.
